The Dragon Goes Vegan
Hello world,
I know that there are a million vegan bloggers in the world, but I wanted to chronical my adventures into veganism, so now there's another one. I'm on week six, and I'll admit, there have been some backslides, because cheese, but I am happy, I feel great, and I'm having a ton of fun trying new recipes.
I have been mostly vegetarian my whole life, until I met my very carnivorous wife, who wrecked my eating habits in the way only an amazing southern cook can, but I'm going back with a vengeance, and taking her along for the ride!
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis a few years ago, and have been battling constant pain and inflammation. Then I found information suggesting that a vegan diet can help people who suffer from RA, and I was vegan within 24 hours.
Our children, ages 16, 19, and 20, are in various stages of thought on this. The 16 year old says that as long as it tastes good, he doesn't care, but it would probably taste better with bacon (A running family joke, I have NEVER eaten bacon, it's gross!), the 19 year old whines until I remind him that he has a job and can buy his own food and cook for himself, and the 20 year old says, "Meh, I live 2 1/2 hours away and am only home for the summer, so it doesn't really apply to me."
Come along for the ride. I promise reviews of products, recipes (links for now, but soon some of my own), and stories of my failures.
Love and hugz,
The Dragon
